Trialkylamine-mediated intramolecular acylation of alkenes with carboxylic acid chlorides.
Trialkylamine-mediated intramolecular cyclization of pent-4-enoyl chlorides was studied. Substitution with a tertiary alkyl group at the 2-position gave cyclopent-2-en-1-ones, while substitution with an aromatic group gave enol esters, which were formed by O-acylation of initially formed 3-chlorocyclopentanones with ketenes.
متن کاملA Novel Aromatic Carboxylic Acid Inactivates Luciferase by Acylation of an Enzymatically Active Regulatory Lysine Residue
Firefly luciferase (Luc) is widely used as a reporter enzyme in cell-based assays for gene expression. A novel aromatic carboxylic acid, F-53, reported here for the first time, substantially inhibited the enzymatic activity of Luc in a Luc reporter screening. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) analyses...
متن کاملReactions of Atomic Carbon with Acid Chlorides
1his thesis is the flfst report of reactions of atomic calbon with acid chlorides. Carbon is known to react with phosgene to afford dichlorocarbene. We report a similar reaction with carbon and acid ch~lorides, generating alkylchlorocarbenes. We examine both the nature of the carbene products generated through deoxygenation and the general reacliviry ofcarbon with the acid chlorides. We report ...
متن کاملAcylation of hydrazides with acetic acid and formic acid.
In peptide synthesis, hydrazides are important intermediates for the azide coupling method. A hydrazide is converted to the corresponding azide in the presence of an acid and a nitrite. When acetic acid (or formic acid) is used as the acid, partial acetylation (or formylation) of the hydrazide occurs as a side reaction. Formylation of the hydrazide is much faster than acetylation. Removal of th...
متن کاملO-Acylation of Substituted Phenols with Various Alkanoyl Chlorides Under Phase-Transfer Catalyst Conditions
Esterification of several types of monoand disubstituted phenols with various monoand dialkanoyl chlorides was performed in phase-transfer catalysis conditions, using tetrabutylammonium chloride in a mixture of aqueous NaOH and dichloromethane. The process is particularly efficient (almost quantitative yields) as well as rapid (only 5 min reaction time, at a temperature of 0 C).
